Scope:
Chilled flower storage and retail centre consisting of 3 individual rooms in one facility. The cold rooms are specifically designed to enhance the logistical flow of “1st in, 1st out”. The rooms consist of a goods-in cold room, a storage & preparation cold room and a large walk-in display retail cold room.
Special Design Features:
Specialised cold room environment control
The refrigeration systems are specifically designed for flower storage, with low air speeds in the cold rooms and a high humidity constant so as not to dry the flowers out. The special dual discharge evaporators allow for optimum air distribution and low air speeds, also making the shopping experience a comfortable one.
Individual refrigeration and control systems
Each room has its own refrigeration system and can be individually controlled or deactivated to save energy when not in demand.
Large thermopane windows and an automated thermopane glass door:
The front of the walk-in retail centre is equipped with 6 large heated thermopane windows and an automatic thermopane glass door for maximum exposure and easy “hands-free” access and exit.
Free water
Pure condensed water produced by the refrigeration systems’ evaporator blowers is harvested in tanks and utilised for the flower vases.
